Robots at events and brand activations: five uses that create real impact

A robot draws attention, but real impact comes when it serves a function within the experience. Five proven formats.

Short answer

Robots work at events when they have a specific role: welcoming and guiding visitors, handing out products, headlining a show, generating social media content or capturing attendee data. For humanoid activations, the recommended model is the Unitree G1 Pro, which works with remote control and comes with more than 10 dance, kung fu and interaction routines. The Unitree Go2 quadruped complements shows, along with Keenon and OrionStar service robots for reception and delivery.

1. Reception and guidance

A reception robot with conversation in Spanish greets visitors, answers frequently asked questions and guides attendees to the booth or room. It organizes visitor flow and adds a memorable point of contact. Models: OrionStar GreetingBot Nova, UBTECH Cruzr.

2. Delivery of samples and products

A delivery robot moves through the space with trays and a branded screen. It works very well at beverage, food and cosmetics launches. Models: Keenon DINERBOT T10.

3. Shows and content

A humanoid that dances or a quadruped that does acrobatics generates the content audiences record and share. The key is a short, rehearsed routine with a brand close. Models: Unitree G1 Pro, Unitree Go2.

The humanoid for activations: Unitree G1 Pro. It is the G1 version designed for exhibitions, live demonstrations and brand promotion: it is operated by remote control, comes with more than 10 built-in routines (dance, kung fu, greeting and interaction) and has 29 degrees of freedom, which gives it smoother movement than the basic version. It is built 20 to 30 days after payment, so it is best to lock it in at least two months before the event. For it to also converse in Spanish or guide visitors without an operator, you need an EDU version with a reception package.

4. Data capture

The robot's screen can display a QR code or a short form. It is a natural way to capture contacts without a promoter chasing people down.

5. Permanent ambassador

For brands that run many activations per year, buying the robot and giving it its own identity (name, outfit, voice) is more cost-effective than renting it for each event, and builds a brand asset.

What needs to be planned

  • A trained operator present throughout the event.
  • Clear space and level floor for wheeled robots.
  • Backup batteries for long shifts.
  • A script: what the robot does, when, and how the interaction ends.

Frequently asked questions

Should you buy or rent a robot for events?

For one or two events a year, renting makes sense. For a frequent schedule, buying it and giving it its own identity builds a brand asset.

Does the robot speak Spanish?

OrionStar and UBTECH reception robots include conversation in Spanish. On the Unitree G1, Spanish conversation comes with the EDU version and the reception package; the G1 Pro works with remote control and routines.

Which robot is best for a brand activation?

For a humanoid, the Unitree G1 Pro: dance and interaction routines, remote control and fluid movements. It must be locked in at least two months ahead, because manufacturing takes 20 to 30 days from payment.
