On-demand import of robots
A robot built for your project, imported in your company's name and delivered with a single fixed price.
On-demand import is a purchase model in which the robot is ordered from the factory according to the client's project, instead of being chosen from what a distributor has in inventory. The client receives a fixed quote that includes equipment, transport, taxes and handling; pays a deposit to confirm the order; and the robot is imported in the company's name, with the invoice and manufacturer's warranty issued to it. In Chile and Mexico the process takes between 5 and 12 weeks depending on the model and the type of shipment.
What on-demand import is
It is the way to acquire a robot that is not yet in your country. Instead of adapting to the model someone happens to have available, you define what your operation needs and the robot is ordered from the factory in the right version.
The difference from a direct import is who takes on the process: with on-demand import, Robusto handles model selection, international purchase, transport, customs and delivery, and you receive a single fixed price from the start.
How it works, step by step
| Step | What happens | Lead time |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Assessment | We define the task the robot will perform, the environment, and the budget. | 48 business hours |
| 2. Fixed quote | A single price delivered to your company: equipment, freight, insurance, taxes and handling. | 2 to 5 days |
| 3. Deposit | The deposit confirms the order at the factory. Terms are defined in the quote. | Upon acceptance |
| 4. Manufacturing | The manufacturer builds and tests the equipment in the agreed version. | 20 to 30 days at Unitree |
| 5. Import | Air or sea transport, customs and payment of taxes in your company's name. | 2 to 8 weeks |
| 6. Delivery | Delivery to your company and commissioning coordinated with the manufacturer's technical team. | Per schedule |
On demand vs. other ways to buy a robot
| Purchase method | Advantage | What you should consider |
|---|---|---|
| Local distributor with inventory | Fast delivery if the model is in the warehouse | Catalog narrowed to what matters to the distributor |
| Marketplace | Simple purchase | Verify authorized seller, warranty and exact version |
| Direct import from the factory | Factory price | 100% prepaid, no door-to-door shipping; you handle customs and paperwork |
| On-demand import | Exact model and version, fixed price and process resolved | Manufacturing and import lead time of 5 to 12 weeks |
Who it suits
- Companies that need a specific model or version that is not available in the local market.
- Universities and labs that require development (EDU) versions with an open SDK.
- Brands and agencies preparing a dated activation that want to own the robot, not rent it.
- Mining companies, plants and industrial operations evaluating inspection robots for hazardous areas.
What the fixed price includes
The fixed price combines in a single figure the equipment in the agreed version, freight and international insurance, import taxes (in Chile, 19% VAT and a 0% tariff for Chinese equipment with a certificate of origin; in Mexico, IGI, DTA, and 16% VAT), customs handling, and delivery to your company. The invoice and the manufacturer's warranty are issued in your company's name.
